Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Review, Photos and Swatches!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner ($15) is a felt-tip liquid eyeliner pen with a long-lasting, no-smudge formula and a glossy finish.

The Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner is available in (5) shades: Olive Green, Brown, Purple, Navy Blue and Black. All shades are available on the Eyeko website, but only Black is sold at Sephora, while the other shades can be purchased online.

I've tried several pen liners from the drugstore, and my favorite has to be Physician's Formula 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner because of the non-fraying, flexible, yet precise tip that doesn't seem to dry out and the overall performance, but it's not the deepest-darkest black, so when I want a very intense liner, I look no further than my Eyeko pen.

The liner is a deep-black with a glossy finish and the tip is firm and comes to a fine point. Although you can create thick or thin lines, I find it much easier to create thicker lines because for the highest amount of pigmentation, pressing it sideways on your lid and sweeping the pen across the eye is the most effective. The tip seems to dry out quickly, so applying the liner straight-on with the tip isn't going to work the best.

My main gripe with this pen is that if aren't very skilled at applying liquid eyeliner, and tend to go over the line a few times, this eyeliner might possible cause a bit of frustration.

Give the tube a good shake, and the tip will be wet enough to line your eye. Although it can get very wet, like I already mentioned, it dries out fairly quick, making you have to close the lid and shake the pen again. By that time, the liner on your eyelid has already dried, so you have be sure that when going over the line, you won't disturb the line that is already there. I notice that when my lids are bare, and line my lids with this eyeliner, by the second/third coat, it can lift the previous coats off. This can be avoided if very minimal (to no) pressure is used.

Overall, it's not at all a bad product, but the biggest drawback is how fast the tip dries out. For personal preference, I prefer a tip that is more flexible, a bit smaller and isn't as dry (something like Lancome Artliner) I will not re-purchase.

• Dries quickly (which is a pro and con, b/c you don't want a liner to take forever to dry and you don't want it to dry before you're done applying it)
• Doesn't come off when eyes come in contact with water
• Long-lasting (for reference, I do not have oily eyelids)

Cons

• The tip dries out too quickly, causing you have to shake the tube multiple times.
• Because the tip is fairly large and firm, it can sometimes be difficult to create a thin line.

I am officially obsessed with Philosophy Love Sweet Love. It's a light, fruity and sweet scent - but not overly sweet. It doesn't have an artificial smell, and I'm sure I can smell it all day long without feeling nauseated (certain notes make me feel nauseous). I'm actually planning on purchasing the Love Sweet Love Eau De Toilette because I love it so much!

I've used the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in the past, and it's a pretty average silicone primer. It does the job of evening out the texture of the skin for a smooth application of foundation. I never buy primer because I think they are overpriced, but it's nice to have a generous sample included, considering it's something I don't like to spend money on! Some cheaper alternatives are ELF Mineral Infused Facial Primer, Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer and Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Gel (yes, totally serious).

Mally's Look is a really pretty creamy, neutral pink. It's pigmented for a lipgloss, feels great on the lips and isn't sticky.

I've so far only tested the Laura Gellar Eye Spackle on my hand, so I can't say much yet, but I'll post a full review on it soon. I've only tried the Ojon Conditioner once, so I can't really state my opinion on it yet.

As for the other products I don't have, I already use and love Josie Maran Argan Oil, and the moisturizer and body butter have great reviews.

I'm not subscribed to any monthly beauty box, but I would choose Test Tube over any of the others. I've read and watched many reviews for various sites, and none of them have wow'ed me. The Beauty Test Tube seems to be the best value overall.

Make Up Forever Smoky Lash Mascara Review!

Make Up Forever Smoky Lash Mascara

Make Up Forever Smoky Lash Mascara ($23) is an ultra-pigmented mascara that delivers curl, volume, length and intense-pigment for some seriously bold lashes.

It's not too often that I'll venture out into pricey mascaras. Considering a tube of mascara only lasts me a month, it's not something I really want to continuously replace - unless there is a mascara that magically transforms my lashes into drag queen lashes, I'm content with my $5 drugstore mascara. Anyways.

I've always wanted to know what the big fuss is with MUFE Smoky Lash, so I got a hold of a sample recently to try it out.

I really like the brush on Smoky Lash. It's a pretty traditional large, fluffy brush - that isn't too large or awkward, reaches my smaller corner lashes, and doesn't get all over my eyelids.

Often times when a mascara claims to provide both intense volume and length, the formula can tend to be clumpy. Make Up Forever Smoky Lash on the other hand seems to define/separate my lashes incredibly well. No matter how many coats I apply, I don't experience any clumping. Lash comb? Who needs one.

It adds a bit of length to my lashes, and builds volume very well. I don't feel the need to let my lashes dry between coats - I just keep brushing my lashes until I'm satisfied with the volume. 

I've really been liking applying two layers of MUFE Smoky Lash and one layer of Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara over top. It gives me some seriously dramatic lashes. Absolutely in love with this combo.

Once dry, my lashes are pretty firm, but not crispy. I find that even by the end of the day, my lashes remained curled. 

And guess what?! Minimal to no smudges throughout the day. Yay!

Overall, I really like this mascara and I like it much more than I thought I would. What stands out about this mascara is how well and fast it builds volume while still keeping the lashes separated. It's not as dramatic as something like YSL Faux Cils, but I love how full and long it makes my lashes look. 

Will I purchase the full size? Although I really like it, I find that Maybelline The Falsie's gives me a similar effect (but Maybelline is a little clumpy sometimes), so I don't think I'll shell out the $23 for a tube. I would jump at the chance to get a hold of another sample, though. It's a great mascara overall, and if you don't mind department store price tags, it's worth checking out.

MAC Bombshell Lipstick Review, Photos and Swatches!

MAC Bombshell Lipstick

MAC Bombshell Lipstick ($15) is a soft rosy pink with pink and golden shimmer. It's a frost formula lipstick, so if you don't like frost, this might not be a lipstick for you - but for reference, I can tolerate many of MAC's Frost Lipsticks as the actual formula is nice and they don't tend to be overly frosty.

The lipstick is smooth (non-gritty and dry like many frost lipsticks) and applies just as silky as any of their other formulas. It has a satin finish, but if it was a bit more glossy I'd love this lipstick so much more. I think it has a tendency to sometimes looks a little dull on my lips, but it's nothing a little gloss doesn't fix. I've read that it looks great when layered with MAC Nymphette Lipglass, although I just grab any similar pink gloss and it always looks nice.

I notice that when I'm tanner (NC35), it looks more cool toned on my lips, and when I'm lighter (NC25), it looks a bit more rosy. I think Pink Icing would've been an appropriate name, because that's almost what it looks like on my lips.

It's a fabulous shade for every-day, and if you're in the market for a frosty pink that doesn't make you look like a porn-star, check out MAC Bombshell.

Pros:

• Smooth formula, applies evenly
• Fabulous every-day shade
• Great for light to medium skintones

Cons:

• Kind of sheer (but buildable) I wish it was more opaque with one coat
• Can sometimes look flat on my lips, so I usually pair it with a lipgloss
• For those that are anti-frost, you may find this lipstick to be too frosty when layered
• Might look too light on deeper skintones
