Jewelmint Classic Cinema Bracelet Review!

jewelmint classic cinema bracelet

Jewelmint Classic Cinema Bracelet

Jewelmint Classic Cinema Bracelet is a new spin on the Cinema Americano Bracelet. It's the same design, but for July, the new version was released in silver.

The bracelet is a mixture of curb and cable links with two textured links that give this bracelet a bit of style. The bracelet measures 7 1/2".

I love the gaudy, chunky chain trend, so when I saw this bracelet in my July showroom, I thought it'd be a perfect everyday piece. You may have noticed that I skipped June, because I really didn't see anything I liked. But I actually liked a few items this month, and I ended up deciding on one that I thought I could get the most use out of/the most practical.

Needless to say, I received it in the mail today and wasn't too satisfied with it. Had I saw the bracelet in person, I would have chosen something else.

The weight of the piece is nice - it's not heavy, but it's not ultra-lightweight. It's well-made, and the links are attached very sturdy. The clasp is also very sturdy.

It's not a shiny silver, but it's not grungy/oxidized . It looks a lot like dull, stainless steel.

You might like the lackluster finish of the bracelet, but I think it's one of the reasons that this bracelet doesn't do much for me. The bracelet itself is a very simple design and combined with the matte finish, it's really nothing unique. If there were a few rhinestones on the textured links, I think it really could have added something to this bracelet, or made it a shinier finish.

I think this bracelet is much prettier in gold (from photos, at least). In the photo borrowed above, the person had two of the bracelets stacked, and I think it looks really nice.

It works well on it's own, but I think it looks best when layered. I think it looks pretty cool when different textures and finishes are layered, so wearing it in conjunction with shiny bracelets, a watch, etc, makes this bracelet stand out a bit more.

The bracelet feels comfortable on my wrist, and the links don't seem to dig into my skin at all. It's a very nice fit.

Overall, I'm pretty neutral on this bracelet, but that's my opinion only! Let me know what you think!

The Round-Up

Pros:
  • Sturdy, well made.
  • Comfortable on my wrist.
  • Looks nice when layered.
  • A good, everyday piece.
Cons:
  • Very plain - which is fine, but it doesn't make a statement, and looks very dull.
  • Looks cheap on my wrist when worn alone.
  • Has no "wow" factor - wouldn't qualify as a statement piece.

My cons are based on the price tag. I don't think this bracelet is horrible, but I don't think it's worth the price. Bear in mind this is my opinion only. You may love this bracelet and think I'm nuts. I do own a handful of Jewelmint pieces, so I can distinguish the good and the bad (quality and visual appeal). They do have very nice items, but I believe it's a hit or miss.

Jewelmint Armor Ring Review! Plus 65% off code!

     Jewelmint Armor Ring

It's been a while since my last Jewelmint post, so I was excited when I received my April selection in the mail this morning. I wasn't too crazy about anything these past couple of months, but when I saw the Armor Ring, I knew I had to have it.

Jewelmint's Armor Ring features a pale, oxidized silver 2 1/4" long, finger-hugging shield filled with rows of shiny crystals.

I found no flaws in my ring, and after wearing it for a few hours, find that it's really comfortable on my hand while going about my routine, writing and typing on the computer. Every now and then I glance at my hand to admire the glistening crystals.

I know it's not too unique or anything - I actually own a bunch of similar shaped rings that I purchased from various places (mostly Forever 21) for a few dollars, but after wearing them often, the color of the metal changed on just about all of them. This brings me to the reason I wanted the Armor Ring. I own several items from Jewelmint and actually, I wear my Jewelmint rings most days out of the week, and none of them have changed color, lost stones, etc. I wanted a good quality ring that is still inexpensive, but will last me for much longer.

Overall,  I'm really pleased with this ring and I can already tell it's going to be one of my most worn pieces, as it can literally be worn with anything!

If you're interested in purchasing anything from Jewelmint, make sure to check out the codes that are available (via Google). Currently, there is a 65% off code for new members, which brings the price down to $10.49 for any item (regularly $29.99) with free shipping.

Jewelmint Persephone Pendant Review with Lots of Photos!

    jewelmint persephone pendant review

    Jewelmint Persephone Pendant

Alright, Jewelmint time of the month y'all!

I wasn't too crazy about the February selection of Jewelmint jewelry. I was hoping for cuter items in spirit of Valentine's Day (even though I'm 23, I still love anything heart shaped). None of the items were really of my taste. I suppose that's better for my wallet, though!

There was one item that struck my interest, and that is the Persephone Pendant. I'm kind of a sucker for little trinkets, mini bottles - anything miniature, really, so this perfume bottle pendant was totally my taste. Although the shape of the bottle kind of resembles a flask, and I'm hoping I won't be mistaken for an alcoholic.

    Jewelmint Persephone Pendant

Wrapped around the pendant is an adorable flower design (daisies?) which is perfectly suited for Spring. The cap of the bottle has a little white stone (plastic), which is a nice little touch of detail. The silver coloring is oxidized like many of Jewelmint's pieces to give off an aged/vintage appearance. The chain is 30" in length, and lays right below my chest.

I apologize in advance for the overflow of photos, but I took so many! I think it's a nice to see the fine details of an item before purchasing it, especially if you're limited to purchasing the item online.

The piece is dainty, but it does have a little bit of weight to it (which I like in any piece of jewelry). It definitely feels like a quality piece.

I think it's a really fun necklace, and doesn't require much thought when it comes to pairing it with the right outfit. It's one of those items you can just toss on and be out the door.

This piece, and every other piece of jewelry retails for $29.99 (with free shipping) at Jewelmint.com.

    Jewelmint Metal Mosaic Ring Review!

    jewelmint metal mosaic ring

    Jewelmint Metal Mosaic Ring

Hey Everyone, quick Jewelmint post today - I purchased another ring that I've had my eyes on for a while. It's one of their older pieces that has been around since I joined a few months ago. It's the 'Metal Mosaic Ring'.

I decided to finally get it after realizing how well it would coordiante with my most recent Madison Avenue Ring. I do of course have other silver rings, but I'm a big fan of the quality of Jewelmint's rings. I have three, and they are all very sturdy, heavy, comfortable and haven't tarnished/discolored in any way.

The Metal Mosaic Ring is available in one color, silver, which is oxidized to give off an antique/grungy look. It's made up of a cluster of different sized squares that are all connected. It's a really unique and "different" ring. It really looks like a small piece of art on your finger.

    Kate Bothworth says,

"This ring is the type of piece that will carry over so well from running around in the day to enjoying a night on the town. It's one of my favorite rings we've done so far. Channel Alexander Wang - a little tough, urban and very cool. "

It does in fact, coordinate very well with the Madison Avenue Ring. I've had this ring for a week, and I always wear them together.

**I apologize for this awful picture of my incredibly dry hands. This has been the toughest winter by far on my hands.

As far as the sizing goes, I ordered a size 6, and it fits true to size to slightly large. My left ring finger is always a size 6, but my right ring finger is closer to a 6.5, and it fits both fingers comfortably.

Overall, I'm very happy with my ring. I do like the Madison Avenue Ring better if I had to choose, but I think the Metal Mosaic is a really fun item and I'm happy to own it.

For new customers, there's a 50% off code handy, which will make your first piece $14.99, with free shipping. The code is "PRETTY" and it is valid until 1/31/2012.

Jewelming Madison Avenue Ring Review with Lots of Photos!

    jewelming madison avenue ring

     Jewelmint Madison Avenue Ring

I promised you all there wouldn't be any more Jewelmint posts until January, and you got it! I received my January piece a little early - a few days after Christmas and I've been wearing it just about every day since. It has quickly become my "go-to" ring for every day.

It's available in one color, silver, which is slightly oxidized for an "aged" look, with a row of 10 sparkly gray crystals running through the center. The design is inspired by 1920's Art Deco, where such designs have been spotted on the runway by high end designers, such as Gucci and Ralph Lauren. It has an antique feel to it, yet it also looks very modern. It's a ring that can be dressed up or down and will go well with anything.

    jewelmint madison avenue ring
As far as the sizing goes, my ring finger is a 6. It's an absolute perfect fit. There is no struggle to put it on or take it off, and by the end of the day it still sits on my finger secure without feeling loose. The only thing is, it doesn't fit on any of my other fingers. I can't even get it half-way down my pointer finger or middle finger on the same hand. My opposite hand (my right) is slightly larger; my ring finger is around a 6.25 to a 6.50 and I can't get it past my knuckle. If the band was shaped normally, it would fit, but because it's a square, it's a tighter fit. If you're a very true 6, 7 or 8, I'd recommend going with your size. But, for those with half or quarter sizes, I'd recommend going one size up. If you have large knuckles, you may have a problem with the fit of this ring, and I'd highly recommend ordering a size up.

It's a really comfortable ring and doesn't ever seem to get in the way or bother me when I'm typing on the keyboard or going about my day.

Overall, I'm really happy with the Madison Avenue Ring and I highly recommend it if it's a piece you've been curious about. It may not be suitable for everyone's style, but I've had a few compliments on it so far, and I love mine. It's actually my favorite piece so far, next to the Blue Lunar Necklace!

Jewelmint Pomander Pendant Review with Lots of Photos!

    jewelmint pomander pendant

    Jewelmint Pomander Pendant

I know I've featured a lot of Jewelmint this month, but I swear, this will be it for a while. Or, at least until January. I was looking at the Pomander Pendant for a while, and decided on getting it before it's gone. It's currently "almost sold out".

The Pomander Pendant features a 32" antique gold/brass coloured chain, holding a perforated sphere, that opens and closes with a magnetic clasp. The sphere is meant to hold a small piece of fragrant cotton, and when worn around your neck, you should be able to smell the scent as you go about your day.

Jewelmint says, "Don this piece with your signature scent and make a lasting impression whenever you leave a room."

I think it's an adorable design and idea, and a piece that can be very sentimental to many. You can put any scent that makes you happy; your favorite perfume, your significant others cologne, a fragrance that reminds you of a parent or loved one, etc. You can even "test" out a fragrance you've been eyeballing, by spraying a little bit on a piece of cotton at your local dept. store.

I love the fact that every once in a while when I'm going about my day, I'll catch a whiff of the fragrance. I can't help but grab the pendant here and there to smell it.

An overall really cool piece to own.

    Jewelmint Lunar Blue Necklace Review!

    jewelmint lunar blue necklace review

    Jewelmint Lunar Blue Necklace

Yep, you guessed it, more Jewelmint. Earlier this month I posted about the Easy Rider Necklace and the Silver Swan Bracelet. Both pieces I love to death, and when I realized that there are pieces made that won't be re-made, I quickly ordered the Lunar Blue Necklace. Lucky I did, because the following day it was sold out.

Actually, just about every item in my showroom is sold out, which I've never seen before! Maybe many people are purchasing Jewelmint for the holidays?

I'm so happy I did get the Lunar Blue Necklace, because it's probably my favorite item I own from Jewelmint.

The Lunar Blue Necklace features a 19" silver curb chain with a silver square pendant and a gold square accent atop. In the middle lies a sky blue, oval stone. From the bottom of the pendant, there is a row of small dangling chains. It's an unusual piece, but very pretty. The silver is oxidized, so it has more of a matte finish. It has a slight worn look to it, but still shines very nicely. The gold detail has a standard shiny finish, so the different finish and contrasting metals compliment each other very well. The pale blue "stone" isn't really a gemstone, but plastic. When it first launched, I know the fact that it was plastic was disappointing to some, but because I already knew, I wasn't disappointed. To me, this is a really stand-out necklace and looks very high-end.

    jewelmint lunar blue necklace review

The necklace and pendant have some weight to it, and feels like it's very good quality.

    jewelmint lunar blue necklace

    Jewelmint Lunar Blue Necklace

I was really pleased that the necklace has a chain extender. At the standard length, it hits me in the middle of my chestbone, and fully extended, the dangling chains sit right in between my chest. Both ways look very nice.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this necklace and I'm so happy I got it when I did. I'm not sure if it will be re-released, as some items do come back, and some don't. This particular necklace has been around for a while, but if you're curious, it might be worthwhile to contact Jewelmint's Customer Service.

If you'd like to join Jewelmint, I found a few codes that should currently work. The best one I found for New Members is 55% off your first item, making the total $13.49 with free shipping.

    CODE: RETAIL

I couldn't find anything good for existing customers. The only thing I found valid was 10% any one item, which is only $3 savings. The code for that is: WLYOURS10.

If you know of any other codes, please let me know in the comments!

    Jewelmint Easy Rider Necklace Review!

    jewelmint easy rider necklace review

    Jewelmint Easy Rider Necklace

My December Jewelmint item arrived in the mail today. I had my heart set on getting the Vanguard Necklace, but it literally sold out before my eyes. So, I went with my next choice, which is (somewhat-kinda-not really) similar; the Easy Rider Necklace.

The Easy Rider Necklace features a 36" gold curb chain with gold tubing and silver faux barbed wire castings. This is another item that has an edgy feel, yet feminine because it is so long and dainty. I find it looks best when paired with lightweight tops, such as a flowy chiffon or silk blouse or with a blazer. It also goes very well with a gold statement ring (such as the Everfrost ring) or watch. It can be worn at the full length, or it can be doubled with one chain laying directly around the neck, and the other one laying right above the chest. For my personal preference, I like it at it's full length, as doubling it can feel uncomfortable on the neck.

    Jewelmint Easy Rider Necklace Review

The necklace itself is extremely light-weight and delicate. A little lighter than I anticipated it being. Also, because it has a shiny finish, the tubes are prone to getting fingerprints if you handle it a lot. A quick wipe with a jewelry cloth or towel will take away any prints.

    Jewelmint Easy Rider Necklace

Overall, I'm very happy with it and I'm sure I will wear it often as I love mixing silver and gold. I still plan on getting the Vanguard Necklace though, I hope they re-stock it soon! :)
